Graph for Quora response. Internet search for Operating Systems.

Internet Search is a great way to measure trends and hypes. At Trendmark we filter this proverbial ‘wisdom of crowds’ and put all internet search on a single scale. This ensures that our analysis are consistent and we can actually tell if a rise in search is significant or not.

The trend of search for operating systems is downward. Search for all operating systems in this selection is declining.

When we zoom in further on the three remaining OS we see that Debian 9 quickly gained popularity in 2017 and retained that level of search. Antix has peaked in 2015 but its decline is very gradual so far.

Finally, the search pattern for MX Linux is an interesting one, it declined untill 2013 only to rebound in 2018. it has now reached similar search levels as Antix.
